All funds raised from this event will stay in the community supporting the Nanaimo Branch of the BC SPCA.
The goal is to raise $25,000 for Nanaimo's homeless, abandoned and abused animals. The BC SPCA needs your help to achieve this goal!

Bring along your pooch and come join us at beautiful Maffeo Sutton Park for a day of family fun at the Scotiabank and BC SPCA Paws for a Cause Walk. The event will kick start at 9:45am with the walk taking place late morning. Once there you will be able to enjoy fantastic entertainment and activities, all in support of our favourite furry friends.

By participating in Scotiabank and BC SPCA Paws for a Cause you're helping to speak for those who can't speak for themselves. The BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for 37,000 animals each year through its 41 facilities and operations across B.C. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals.

Live music from some fantastic island bands at the bandshell. There are many fun activities to enjoy including: an inflatable bouncy castle, face painting and much more! There will even be a human "hamster cage" for kids to play in. You can also visit the vendor's and sponsor's tents. Paws for a Cause merchandise will be available so you can show your support for the BC SPCA!
Entrance to the concert is free for walkers and other people are more than welcome to attend by donation. Between 12 and 4pm join us and hear the great sounds of:

The event will be catered by Cobbleccinos Cafe and they will be serving delicious BBQ items and other refreshments. As well, they will have a variety of vegetarian options available, including fruit kebabs.
For those early risers we are please to announce that there will be a Starbucks tent with coffee service in the morning!
