Bosley’s Pet Foods ‘Lends a Paw’ to the BC SPCA

RICHMOND, British Columba, July 15, 2009 – There will be lots more wagging tails, purrs of contentment, and chirps of delight, thanks to Bosley’s Pet Foods sponsorship support of the BC SPCA Paws for a Cause fundraising walk for the animals. And, starting July 11, 2009, all Bosley’s 23 BC locations will be distributing registration and pledge forms for Paws with a Cause, and accepting donations on behalf of the SPCA.
The finale of the campaign, local walks for the animals events will take place on September 13 in 39 communities around the Province. This year’s fund raising goal is to raise $950,000 for local companion, farm and wild animals. Last year more that 15,000 animal lovers participated, lending a “paw” to animals in need, and $1.2 million was raised for care, shelter and finding ‘forever’ homes for animals.
President and General Manager of Bosley’s, Ken Almond, stated that supporting the SPCA’s effort to help animals, extends the reach of Paws with a Cause in communities around the Province.
“We are very pleased Bosley’s is able to provide Silver Sponsorship for Paws with a Cause, and to involve all of our stores and Pet Specialists, to further the success of the campaign. Providing information that enables animal well-being is our business, in pet nutrition and accessories, so it’s natural for us to extend the SPCA’s fundraising and awareness message to our customer’s too.“
Bosley’s has a long standing history of community caring and is a strong supporter of animal well-being through good care and nutrition. The company’s Pet Specialists at neighbourhood Bosley’s stores will be providing information about the SPCA campaign and how their two legged friends (people!) can contribute. Funds raised will help injured, neglected, homeless and abused animals.
The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in BC.
